Sea Turtle Patrol Coming to Wellfleet Bay This Month

WELLFLEET – Mass Audubon and the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary are inviting Cape Codders on a Sea Turtle Patrol this month.

Search for cold-stunned sea turtles on Cape Cod Bay beaches with a Wellfleet Bay naturalist. Learn about the biology, behavior and conservation of sea turtles along with other life along the wrackline.

The program runs from 10:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 24. Organizers ask participants to arrive 15 minutes early to sanctuary building, where staff will then supply a caravan to the beach.

Participants are also asked to dress appropriately, as most of the patrol is spent on a windy and cold beaches in the wet sand.

Pre-registration required for the patrol, which is suitable for adults and children age six or older. Members pay a $10 admission while nonmembers pay $12.
