ORLEANS – Nauset Beach in Orleans was closed to swimming for about an hour yesterday afternoon after a confirmed shark sighting.
According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app, the great white was spotted about 50 yards off the head lifeguard stand around 4:15 p.m.
The conservancy also estimates a 9-10 foot great white was seen yesterday in Cape Cod Bay.
