BARNSTABLE – Towns across the Cape are reporting a wide range of inch counts for snow accumulations from the latest storm.

In the Outer Cape at about 8 this morning, Frank Szedlak in Wellfleet said the overnight accumulation appeared to be about six inches. But he said blowing winds and heavy snow fall was making driving conditions hazardous from Wellfleet to Provincetown.

In West Harwich, Jack Wyatt said 7.3 inches of snow had fallen overnight and the temperature was dropping rapidly. Winds blowing out of the north and an extremely low barometer reading of 29.2 completed the picture.

Highest snowfall totals on the Cape were measured in North Falmouth with 14 inches since the start of the storm yesterday afternoon at about 3 p.m. Sandwich snowfall measured 6.5 inches at 8 this morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Off Cape totals are much higher with Salisbury measuring the most at 20 inches.
