PLYMOUTH – The towns of Provincetown and Plymouth are both planning to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrim’s Landing with special license plates.
Plymouth’s design of the plate will include a picture of the Mayflower sailing ship and Provincetown’s will include a picture of the Pilgrim Monument.
The Pilgrims landed first in Provincetown where they are said to have cleaned their clothes, met Native Americans, and signed the Mayflower Compact, before continuing their journey and sailing on to Plymouth where they set up a colony.
Both towns are currently taking requests for the license plates, which will commemorate the anniversary in 2020.
