State Senator Vinny deMacedo
BARNSTABLE – A date has been set for the special election to fill the Plymouth/ Barnstable State Senate seat left vacant by Vinny deMacedo last month.
The current candidates include Republicans Jay McMahon and Jared MacDonald and Democrats Susan Moran, Becky Coletta, John Mahoney, Jack Stanton and Thomas Moakley.
The primary election will be held March 3, the same day as the presidential primary for Massachusetts, with the general election following on March 31.
For those seeking nomination, which requires 300 certified signatures, the deadline to submit papers to local registrars is January 21, with the last day to file certified nomination papers January 28.
