HYANNIS – A new dining and entertainment complex is getting closer to opening in Hyannis.
Ten Pin Eatery in the Cape Cod Mall is a joint venture between Chapin’s Restaurant Group and Ryan’s Family Amusements and will feature a 300-seat restaurant, bar, bowling lanes, laser tag and game room.
“It’s a one stop location where you can bring the family,” said Rob Nichols, the managing partner and president. “The kids can go into the game room, can go into the laser tag and then we’ll also have escape rooms and VR games for the family to play too.”
Nichols said the venue will be family friendly, but will also be marketed towards adults.
“The demographic will be geared more towards adults in the evenings because of the restaurant and the bar,” he said. “But the family is still very important to us.”
The complex will also be able to accommodate private parties and large-scale events.
Nichols said the weather has caused some construction setbacks but is still hopeful for an early April opening.
“Even though most of the work is being done inside it is delayed some of our vendors getting here,” Nichols said. “We’ve been able to overcome a lot of [the delays] but we are still running a little bit behind.”
Even if the business is successful, Nichols said he does not see the concept being expanded to other Ryan’s locations on Cape Cod.
“I think our existing facilities will probably stay pretty much the way they are,” he said. “In our locations we are limited on space so we really can’t do anything like we are doing here.”
Expansion of similar establishments on the South Shore or Southern New Hampshire are being explored.
The Ten Pin Eatery is expected to employ about 120 people.
