Arc of Greater Plymouth Services Coming to Upper Cape

HYANNIS – The Arc of Greater Plymouth is extending its services over the bridges to the Upper Cape through to Hyannis.

The Arc provides service for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.

“The Arc of Great Plymouth is always looking for opportunities to expand our service area. We’ve had several opportunities over the last couple years to do that through additional programming and expansion of services that we’ve offered, but this is a great opportunity to expand our physical territory,” said Beth Cincotta, Director of Communications and Marketing for The Arc.

“And we know that there’s a population of people out there in the community that would benefit from these services.”

Some of their programs include Adult Family Care, Agency with Choice, Individualized Home Support, Social Recreational Programs, Autism Services, Shared Living, Supported Employment, Family support, and others.

“We hope to start with soft services—meaning advocacy outreach—and getting a better idea of what the needs are in the community before we start anything in terms of hard services; services out in the homes and things like that,” said Kathy Baldwin, Director of Program Development.

“Our plan is at least by the end of the year to have a new identity. So we’ll have a new name. We’ll have a brand new website that will be much more user friendly and have a lot of information, an event calendar, an e-newsletter so they can stay in tune with all of our events,” said Cincotta.

Those who are interested in The Arc of Greater Plymouth services should contact Kathy Baldwin, Director of Program Development at (508) 732-9292, extension 134, or visit their website at www.thearcofgp.org.
