MASHPEE – Two Cape Cod High School football teams came home state champions Saturday night.
Both Mashpee and Falmouth High Schools won their respective Super Bowl games at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
Mashpee defeated Wahconah 34-13 for their 2nd consecutive Division 4 Super Bowl.
Mashpee scored 14 fourth quarter points, while Devaun Ford ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Wahconah was held to 88 rushing yards.
The Falcons won the Division 6 Super Bowl last year before being moved to Division 4 this year.
Falmouth beat Marblehead by the same score, 34-13 to capture the Div. 2A Super Bowl.
Junior fullback Gates Kelliher ran 18 times for 95 yards and three scores, while
Falmouth quarterback Nick Couhig threw for one touchdown and ran for another, while junior fullback Gates Kelliher ran for 95 yards and three touchdowns.
