BOSTON — Massachusetts State Police say a passenger on a London-to-Boston British Airways flight has been restrained as she tried to open and exit door.
Flight 213 landed about a half-hour ahead of schedule today at Boston’s Logan International Airport at 1:30 p.m.
State Police said the incident was a case of intoxication and not related to terrorism.
The suspect is off the plane and is currently being interviewed by state and federal authorities, according to State Police. Interviews if the flight crew and witnesses are also ongoing.
The woman is expected to face charges of at least interfering with a flight crew and it is possible other charges could be sought. She is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court tomorrow but police said the timing is not yet definite.
In a statement, British Airways called the passenger “unruly” and said the flight crew asked that police meet the flight in Boston. The airline says it does not tolerate abusive behavior, but it didn’t elaborate.
