Volunteers Needed for COASTSWEEP Cleanup in Dennis and Yarmouth This Weekend

YARMOUTH – The Friends of Bass River and the Yarmouth Conservation Department are organizing a local cleanup on Saturday, September 23rd.

The cleanup will take place in areas around the Bass River as well as Sound facing beaches.

Participants will gather at Bass River Beach at 9 a.m. to distribute supplies and break into small teams to visit several areas throughout town.

Everyone will then return with all the waste collected before noon.

Organizers are also looking for boaters willing to use their vessels to get to areas not accessible by land.

The annual COASTSWEEP cleanup organized by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management.

Those interested in participating can show up on the day of the event, but water volunteers should register ahead of time.
