Winter Weather Advisory Issued for President’s Day

HYANNIS – President’s Day will feature a round of winter weather for the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Barnstable County and Southeastern Massachusetts from late Saturday night through early Monday.

Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard are not included in the advisory.

Snow is expected to begin falling after midnight with a couple of inches possible by daybreak.

On President’s Day, snow will continue, possibly mixed with sleet, freezing rain and rain.

Total accumulation could range from 3 to 5 inches, with higher amounts near the Cape Cod Canal.

Any lingering snow will end Monday night with clearing skies.

The storm is not expected to bring high winds or any coastal flooding issues.
