We all know that Christmas is the time of giving… But all too often, we overlook giving to the people who need our help the most. This holiday season, Cape Cod Broadcasting Media, Child and Family Services and Mid-Cape Home Centers have reached out to the Cape Cod community to make sure the families in our own neighborhoods do not go without this Christmas. A 12 y.o. female and her single mom have had a difficult year. With multiple health difficulties for both of them appearing, they have each been in and out of hospitals. The girl has also needed to switch schools and make an entirely new set of friends, leading to a year filled with change. Despite these setbacks, both of them have been working hard to spend time together and help each other through the year. They would greatly appreciate any help in making Christmas a fun and happy end to an otherwise chaotic year. Child #1: A 12 y.o. female could use a bed canopy to help her feel safe/comfortable sleeping at night (she prefers the color green). She would also like a ring/jewelry making kit, and/or anything with images of frogs (such as a frog dress 2X woman size, frog sheets or frog fidget toys) Parent/guardian #1: A 35 y.o. female could really use a vacuum cleaner and a grocery coupon to help with affording food. She would also love gel pens and an adult mindfulness coloring book to help her cope with stress and color with her daughter. She especially loves images of dragons, turtles and dragonflies!
