EAST SANDWICH – Sandwich High School senior co-captain Riley Sorenson gave his Blue Knights what they needed most after a couple of heart-rending, recent losses, and went the distance for a complete-game, four-hit shutout over the visiting Norwell Clippers.
Sandwich (3-6) rode Sorenson’s shutout gem to a 5-0, non-league victory.
The Merrimack-bound ace of the Blue Knights’ pitching staff went all seven innings, walked just one and struck out eight batters to help his squad raise its record to 3-6 on the season.
Dylan Kay went 2-4 on the afternoon and scored two runs, while Matt Dahl went 2-3 with a key double and drove in a pair of runs.
Sandwich High’s Mike Manning went 1-3 and added an RBI as well.
The Blue Knights next face Carver High on Monday, May 4 at 4:00 pm.
