Barnstable High School senior Bo Delaney IV last week was recognized by Lynchburg College as a participant in the school’s Leadership and Community Service Scholarship Competition. Delaney was recognized as a student whose achievements excel in the Lynchburg College traditions of leadership and community service. Delaney was one of 100 students competing for scholarship awards through the schools essay-writing contest and interview with faculty and staff members of the school. he is a senior at Barnstable High School.

Nauset Regional High School graduate Kim Stewart (Class of 2013) helped lead the University of Bridgeport women’s gymnastics team to the ECAC Division II Women’s Gymnastics Championships on March 21 in New Haven, CT. A sophomore gymnast for the Purple Knights, Stewart captured firstp lace in the vault competition and took a ninth place finish in the parallel bars. She scored 9.8 and 9.7, respectively, in the two events. It was Bridgeport’s seventh straight ECAC championship title. Stewart is also a former gymnast for Cape Cod Gymnastics. A two-time Level 9 Eastern National qualifier and two-time Level 10 Junior National qualifier, Stewart is an Eastham native and daughter of Tammy and Eric Stewart.

Nauset Regional High School graduate Kasey Kilmurray (Class of 2014), helped lead the Southern Connecticut State University gymnastics’ team to a second place finish in the ECAC Division II Women’s Gymnastics Championships on March 21. A freshman, Kilmurray took sixth place on the bars with her 9.725 score as the Owls set a new school record with 191.875 team points. A former Warriors’ captain, Kilmurray also competed for Cape Cod Gymnastics and was a Massachusetts state champion,  five-time regional qualifier and a Nationals qualifier. A South Dennis native, Kilmurray is the daughter of Angela and Mark Kilmurray. She plans to major in athletic training.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School graduate Jillian MacDonald (Class of 2013) had a superlative fall semester playing field hockey for Springfield College. The two-time collegiate field hockey letterman for The Pride was a field hockey and softball standout for the D-Y- Dolphins under Coaches Mary O’Connor and

Mike Bonasia, respectively. MacDonald saw action in 14 games last fall. A physical therapy major and South Yarmouth native, MacDonald is the daughter of Ann and William MacDonald of South Yarmouth.

Nauset Regional High School graduate Carrine Putnam (Class of 2012) is busy getting ready for the upcoming collegiate crew season as a member of the Ithaca College Bombers. A junior at Ithaca, Putnam and the Bombers are slated to kick off the spring crew season against Canisius College on March 28 on Cayuga Lake.

Barnstable High School alumna Mary Kate Mezzetti (Class of 2012) and Cape Cod Academy graduate Katie Olsen are both members of the Georgetown University sailing team. Mezzetti, a former Barnstable High sailing captain, is now a junior with the Hoyas and Olsen, an East Dennis native, is a senior.

Barnstable High School Class of 2014’s Marissa Peri, a former standout ice hockey and softball player for the Red Raiders, has already been in the starting lineup for the Salem State women’s softball team and she’s only a freshman. Peri went 2-2 in her first career collegiate softball game on March 13 against Mount Mary College in Ft. Myers, FL in the Vikings’ first win of the season. Peri started in right field for the Vikings and rapped out a double in the season-opener.

Barnstable High School graduate James Conley (Class of 2011) is listed on the men’s golf team roster for Becker College. Conley is an elementary education major at Becker and is a senior.
