With four freshmen in his starting lineup, it was a big victory for Craig D’Amario’s young squad as they move to 1-2 on the season.

“It’s a big win for us because we are a really young team, so I have a lot of freshmen starting, which is unusual,” D’Amario said. “So for them to get their first win is great.”

The Clippers and Seahawks have duked out some epic battles in the past, but the Clippers collected two early wins as they coasted to victory.

Falmouth’s first and second singles made quick work of the opposition as Brian Estes and Marcus Dalpe closed out their matches for a quick 2-0 lead. Estes ran the table in straight sets over CCA’s Noah Mendelsohn 6-0, 6-0 while Dalpe recorded 6-1, 6-1 wins over Kevin Pan.

Cape Cod Academy’s lone victory came from seventh-grader Sam Shanahan at third singles, knocking off Spanish exchange-student Xabi Santamria 6-4, 6-4.

Needing just one victory from either doubles matches, the Clippers second doubles team of Ben Hefrich and Wes Gardland sealed the victory with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Dary Zhang and Harry Dhang.

The second doubles team of Michael Mangalo and Luke Knox put the exclamation point on the win, closing out the day with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Mike Foreman and Tucker Wilson.

Falmouth faces Dennis-Yarmouth Wednesday at home with hopes of reaching .500 and picking up a key Atlantic Coast League win.
