Now at 5-6 on the season, and with four matches left, the Clippers very well could pull it off.

The Moskal sisters – freshman number one singles player Julia Moskal and number two singles player Marysia Moskal – paved the way for the Falmouth squad with a pair of victories, followed by wins in both doubles matches.

Julia Moskal defeated Trojans’ sophomore Sadie Antine, 6-0, 6-1, while Marysia Moskal beat senior captain Haley Wayne, 6-2, 6-1. B-R’s Felicia Brooks took the Trojans’ sole victory of the day at number three singles, and beat Emily Gendey, 6-4, 6-0.

Emily Maness and Kayla Sheehan took the number one doubles match for the visitors, 6-0, 6-3, versus the Trojans’ senior captain Andrea Rota and her partner Alexia Andrews. At number two doubles, Paige Meade and Lindsey Shea beat Gabrielle Cronin and Kaylee Desmond, 6-4, 6-3.

The Clippers next welcome Marshfield in an Atlantic Coast League match-up on Friday (May 22).

Barnstable Net Women Blank Host Sandwich Lady Knights

The visiting Barnstable Red Raiders girls’ tennis team turned up the steam a little bit Wednesday afternoon, and defeated the host Sandwich Lady Knights, 5-0 in a non-league contest on the East Sandwich campus. Barnstable is now 14-2 on the season and Sandwich is 9-5.

At number three singles, Barnstable’s Emma Doe defeated a gutsy Kay Stanton, 6-4, 6-1, for the singles’ sweep by the guests.

Taya Berler and Michaela Cornwall made it clear why they are the number one doubles team to beat this season, as the pair defeated Laura Murphy and Allison Bryant, 6-0, 6-0. At number two doubles, Oliva Berler and Madison Harrington notched a 6-1, 6-2 win over Jenna Phillips and Amy Bolton.

Barnstable welcomes Bridgewater-Raynham Thursday (May 21) at 4:00 pm. The Knights take on St. John Paul II on Friday (May 22).

Barnstable Boys’ Tennis Unbeaten Streak Continues

Sophomore Max Francis moved up to number one singles Wednesday for the unbeaten Barnstable High boys’ tennis team (15-0) and did not fail to produce a positive result as he paved the way for a 5-0 win over the visiting Sandwich Blue Knights (4-8). Francis defeated Vincent Tanguilig, 6-1, 6-0.

At number two singles it was Nate Medeiros over Steve Tanguilig, 6-4, 6-1, and at third singles, Jackson Burbic downed Marcus DeFelice, 6-0, 6-2.

Gabe Rourke and Matt Kaski took the number one doubles match in sound fashion with a 6-0, 6-1 win over James O’Brien and Matt Stergis, while Dan Black and Daniel Dettinger-Klemm rounded out the win with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Matt Peterson and Evan Abramson.

Barnstable’s next opponent will be Old Colony League rival Bridgewater-Raynham, while Sandwich High will hit the road to face the tough St. John Paul II squad on Friday (May 22).
