FALMOUTH – She did herself one better.
On the heels of a 23-point performance the night before, Falmouth Academy freshman Kendall Currence poured in a game-high 26 points yesterday afternoon to pace her Mariners to a decisive 62-27 win over the visiting Nantucket Whalers.
Eliza Van Voorhis added an equally impressive 19 points from the floor while power forward Christie Brake added six points.
The win places the Falmouth Academy girls at the top of Cape hoop teams at 3-0 heading into this weekend’s Wheeler Tournament. The loss for Nantucket – which was led by Ciara Wilson’s 11 points – was its first of the season and was the season-opener for the Whalers.
