SOUTH YARMOUTH – The Falmouth girls’ tennis team (2-2) evened its record Wednesday afternoon with a 4-1 victory over the host Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins who are still seeking their first win of the season.
Falmouth freshman Julia Moskal paced the Clipper net attack at number one singles, while sister Marysia Moskal took a hard-fought victory at number two singles to pace the visitors to the win.
Julia Moskal defeated Dennis-Yarmouth’s Tess Ciarcia, 6-0, 6-0, while Marysia defeated Laryssa Dumont in a contentious back-and-forth affair, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
Falmouth’s Emily Maness made it a clean Clipper sweep at singles with her win over Taylor McDowell in the number three slot, 6-0, 6-3.
Kayla Sheehan and Paige Meade took the win at number two doubles, defeating Virginia Liu and Rebecca Khachikian, 7-6 (12-10), 7-6 (7-2), in yet another hard-fought match-up.
Dennis-Yarmouth took an uplifting victory in the number two doubles match-up, with Victoria Liu and Olivia VanLare defeating Falmouth’s Lindsey Shea and Emily Gedney in a tiebreaker, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.
Dennis-Yarmouth falls to 0-4 on the season with the loss.
