YARMOUTH PORT — The still undefeated defending state champion Red Raider gymnasts turned, spun, twisted and flipped their way to another stellar score last night, and in the process defeated the Falmouth/Mashpee and Plymouth North/South teams at the Cape Cod Gymnastics Center off Willow Street last night.
Barnstable swept the vault and uneven bars events and took first and second place in the floor routine and all-around competition to post a 146.55 score.
Falmouth/Mashpee turned in a fine score of 141.30 and Plymouth fell with a score of 107.60.
Hayley Myrbeck tied the school record in the vault for the second time this season with her first place score of 9.8, followed by twin sister Kayla Myrbeck in second place with a 9.65. Red Raider Alexa WIlson came in third, tied with Kayla Myrbeck at 9.65.
Tali Twomey took first place in the uneven bars with a 9.25 score, followed by Lauren Hansen in second place (9.2) and Alexa Wilson and Hayley Myrbeck tied for third with an even and matching 9.0 score.
Falmouth/Mashpee’s Sydney Pinnsonault took the balance beam first place honors with her respectable 9.1 mark, followed by Barnstable’s Wilson in second place at 9.0 and teammate Taylor Dimond’s 8.9 for third place.
WIlson notched a 9.6 in the floor routine, good enough for first place honors, followed by Red Raider teammate Hansen in second place at 9.4. Falmouth/Mashpee’s Michael Cannatelli took third place with a score of 9.35.
In the All-Around, it was Barnstable’s Alexa Wilson at the top with a total of 37.25, followed by Hayley Myrbeck (36.65) and Falmouth/Mashpee’s Sydney Pinnsonault (35.15).
Barnstable faces Silver Lake today at home at 8:00 pm.
