SOUTH YARMOUTH – Led by sophomore Jane Earley’s six goals, the Falmouth Academy Mariners (3-0) rolled heavily and often at John Simpkins Field over the Sturgis East Storm girls (0-3), 18-1, to remain unbeaten thus far on the season.
Earley added five assists for an 11-point day while Charlotte Van Voorhis finished with four goals and an assist. Hannah Ginsberg, Christie Brake and Quinn Van Tol each added two points, with Ginsberg and Brake netting a pair of goals each and Van Tol scoring one goal and adding an assist.
Single goal scorers for the Mariners came from Eliza Van Voorhis, Celie Mastroianni and Tasha Garland. Charlotte Van Voorhis also won the majority of draw controls with four.
Mariners’ goalie Kenzie Rogers had five saves on the day while Sturgis East’s goalie Sophie Gibson had 13 saves.
The Storm’s Emma Mulkern scored East’s sole tally on the day.
Falmouth Academy enjoyed a 13-0 lead at the half, but the Storm came back to battle and held the Mariners to just five goals in the second half.
Falmouth Academy gets back into action after April vacation against the Rocky Hill School (RI) at home on April 22.
