EASTHAM – A car and dump truck collided causing the truck to overturn on State Highway (Route 6) in Eastham shortly before 3 PM Wednesday spilling its load of sand. Firefighters reportedly had to extricate the driver from the wreckage. Luckily no serious injuries were reported. Route 6 was closed between Aspinet Road and Oak Road. Eastham Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
From Eastham Police: Eastham Police and Fire are on the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Route 6 in the area of T-Time. Route 6 traffic is currently detoured in both directions. Injuries are reported as minor, and we are working as quickly as possible to reopen the highway. We will update this post when the road reopens.
Editor’s note: About 4:30 PM, Route 6 was reopened in both directions.
