CENTERVILLE – Barnstable Police Officer Peter Ginnetty was welcomed home by dozens of well wishers who lined the roadway along the Route 6/Route 149 roundabout. He is lucky to be alive after being struck at high speed by a drunk driver while directing traffic by the Cape Cod Melody Tent on September 13th.
Peter has many broken bones and a long road of recovery ahead, but thanks to the skilled hands of so many people who helped him along the way, he is home.
From his fellow officers at the scene, to the Hyannis firefighters, the emergency department staff at Cape Cod Hospital, and the doctors, nurses and medical staff in Boston who performed multiple surgeries, THANK YOU for helping bring Peter home.
The turnout tonight says it all. So many people came out to show Peter and his family how much we care and how much we respect him and all he does for our community.
