Nth Degree to Perform Music of Franz Schubert

Nth Degree_January 2016HYANNIS – The music of Franz Schubert will be the focus of the Nth Degree finale on June 4 and 5.

The four-concert season called “Kaleidoscope” featuring the Cape Symphony’s chamber music ensemble comes to a close next month.

Austrian composer Franz Schubert wasn’t recognized for his talent during his short 32-year lifetime, but he was extremely prolific writing hundreds of pieces throughout his career.

He wrote only two string trios and two piano trios.

Also included is “On the River,” a song that includes an indirect homage to Schubert’s hero, Beethoven.

In addition to Series Director and violinist Jae Cosmos Lee, other Cape Symphony musicians featured include Anya Shemetyeva, Bo Ericsson, Mark Miller and Clark Matthews.

Two guest artists will also take part in this unique presentation of Schubert’s music including pianist Mikael Darmanie and soprano Susan Consoli.

Nth Degree performances provide an intimate setting to engage and connect with Cape Symphony musicians on a more personal level.

The popular ensemble will be back for its third season, “The Revolutionaries” this fall.

Falmouth performances will be held at Falmouth Academy beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Chatham performances will be held at the First Congregational Church in Chatham.
