Red Cross Looking for Hero Nominations

HYANNIS – The American Red Cross of the Cape, Islands, and Southeast Massachusetts chapter is looking for nominations for the 18TH annual Heroes Breakfast.

The annual event recognizes those in the area that have saved a life, helped someone in need, or served the community in another way.

“It could be somebody was in a restaurant and collapsed and they performed CPR, it could be a professional responder who went above the call of duty and helped somebody in need, and then we have community service type heroes who perform extraordinary services,” said Hilary Greene, Executive Director of the chapter.

Those who wish to nominate someone for the event can do so at the Red Cross’ Heroes Breakfast page.

“We really appreciate all of the nominations, because it lets he event really be community driven,” said Greene.

They ask that the nomination be sent in before the deadline of December 31, 2019 at 5 pm. Any heroic acts for nomination had to have taken place between December 1, 2018 and December 28, 2019.

The Heroes Breakfast where the event will take place will be held Friday, April 3 of next year at the Resort & Conference Center at Hyannis at 8 am.

The link to nominate a hero can be found here, or nominations can be done in paper at the chapter’s house.
