WOODS HOLE – The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is beginning its search for a new president.

WHOI’s Board of Trustees debuted the Presidential Search Committee this week, after Dr. Mark Abbott announced he is stepping down at the end of 2020.

Senior Scientist and Chair of the Physical Oceanography Department Dr. Amy Bower and Michael Esposito, a trustee, will be the co-chairs of the committee.

The committee will be holding its first meetings on December 17 and 18. Plans for the opening meetings include interviews with key leadership team members and two town hall meetings with staff members.
