EASTHAM — It may be difficult outperforming these Warriors this season.

The Nauset Regional High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams both took home wins last night, defeating the visiting Barnstable High teams, 112-57 and 118-52, respectively.

The loss drops the Barnstable girls to 4-2 on the season while the Nauset girls climb to a still undefeated 5-0.

The loss for the Barnstable boys puts them at an even 3-3 on the season while the Nauset boys are also undefeated at 5-0.

It is likely both teams will face each other again in eight days for the Bay Colony Conference Championship which is slated for February 1.

The Red Raiders did turn in a handful of state sectional qualifying times, however, including the Red Raider 200-yard freestyle relay team (Kylie Sheehan, Caroline Ells, Grace Kilroy and Hannah Lancaster) with a time of 207.58. Nauset took first place.

Barnstable senior captain Olivia Brodt turned in her best times of the year and gathered Barnstable points in her events, while eighth grader Hannah Geoffrion had her personal best time in the individual medley taking third place.

In the boys’ portion of the meet outstanding swims were seen with Stephen Yezukevicz, Liam Russo, Alex Damiecki and Connor Rogan who combined to take second place in the 200-yard medley relay. Russo took first place in the 200-yard freestyle and Damiecki took first place in the 200-yard individual medley.

Additionally, Rogan and Ben Ahajjam had their best times in the 200-yard individual medley and Yezukevicz had his personal best time in two years with his times in the 50-yard freestyle and first place in the 200 freestyle relay. Yezukevicz also came back with another personal best in the 100-yard backstroke, while teammate Russo took first place in the event.

Mitch Langfield dropped his best time by 1.5 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke.
