September 11th, 2026 marks 25 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New Your City, Washington DC, and Shanksville, PA. Fire and Police departments on Cape Cod are scheduling ceremonies of remembrance and to never forget that day.
CHATHAM – Please join us for Chatham’s Remembrance Ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on Friday, September 11th at 9 a.m. at the Fire Station, 135 Depot Road
EASTHAM – Join us as we come togethem to remember the lives list, honor the hereos, and reflect on the strength of our nation.
Join is for a Remembrance Ceremony on Friday September 11th, 2026 at 9:50 AM at the Eastham Fire Department, 2520 State Highway, Eastham, MA. All are welcome.
HARWICH – On Friday, September 11, the Harwich Fire Department will hold a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, honoring the victims and reaffirming the Department’s promise to never forget.
The community is invited to join Harwich Fire and Harwich Police personnel on this solemn anniversary.
The ceremony will be held at the Memorial Circle in front of the Robert A. Peterson Firehouse. Light refreshments will follow, offering time for continued reflection.

BARNSTABLE: September 11th Day of Remembrance — 25th Anniversary
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the attacks on America on September 11, 2001. The Barnstable Fire Department and Barnstable Police Department, in partnership with St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, invite the community to join us as we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and honor the first responders who answered the call that day.

10:00 AM — Remembrance Ceremony
The ceremony will feature Barnstable Police Officer Brian Morrison (Ret.) as guest speaker. At 10:30 AM, a procession will proceed up Main Street to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, where a memorial service will begin at 10:45 AM. Michael Nelson, Manager of Cape Cod Gateway Airport and a former Logan Airport air traffic controller on 9/11, will serve as keynote speaker.
This year’s theme focuses on first responders, police officers, firefighters, flight crews, and air traffic controllers.
25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.
CENTERVILLE – The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department will hold a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on September 11th at 9:45 AM at Headquarters at 1875 Falmouth Road (Route 28).
SANDWICH – On Friday, September 11, the Sandwich Fire Department invites members of our community to join us as we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
We will gather at the Memorial Garden at 9:00 AM to honor and remember the lives lost that day and recognize the courage and sacrifice of the heroes among us.
