HYANNIS – A transformer fire caused a large power outage in the Hyannis area. The fire was reported at West Main Street and Pitcher’s Way about 2:10 PM. Eversource’s outage map showed 1.375 customers without power. Traffic was being rerouted from that area. The resulting outage darkened many traffic lights including along Route 132 snarling traffic. Eversource crews were working to restore service. By 3:30 PM the utility’s map showed all service restored.
