— The New England Patriots have put running back Dion Lewis on injured reserve, ending his season one day after a serious injury to his left knee in a win over Washington. Lewis had been one of the biggest surprises for the 8-0 Patriots this season, with 622 combined yards rushing and receiving in seven games.
— San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Tomsula says he wants to talk to his players and staff over the next days before revealing his plans at quarterback. Blaine Gabbert started in place of Colin Kaepernick on Sunday and tossed two touchdown passes in the Niners’ 17-16 victory Sunday over the Atlanta Falcons.
— St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Bailey served a two-game suspension for performance enhancing drugs last season.
