FALMOUTH – A wake and visitation will be held today for a Florida sheriff’s deputy and Falmouth native killed earlier this month.
John Kotfila Jr.’s body was returned home Sunday afternoon in a police procession from Logan Airport to Cape Cod.
Services will be held this afternoon from 4 pm to 8 pm at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home in Falmouth.
Kotfila died on March 12th when his cruiser was struck by a wrong way driver on a Brandon, FL expressway. The other driver was also killed.
A witness told reporters Deputy Kotfila drove in front of her likely saving her life.
Kotfila’s father is a Mass State Police sergeant based in the Bourne barracks and his brother is a Falmouth police officer.
