BARNSTABLE – The man accused of killing Yarmouth Police Sgt. Sean Gannon was back in court Tuesday for several pre-trial motions.
A judge in Barnstable Superior Court ruled that Thomas Latanowich’s lawyer can obtain time sheets and memos from Cape Cod police departments related to the case.
Latanowich, 30, is accused of shooting and killing Gannon on April 12, 2018 as he and his fellow officers attempted to serve a warrant on Latanowich in Marstons Mills.
His lawyer wants to move the case out of Barnstable County, saying Lantanowich will be unable to get a fair trial on Cape Cod because of the wave of publicity it received.
In separate action Tuesday, Latanowich pleaded not guilty to charges he attacked another inmate with a razor in the Barnstable County House of Correction last November.
Latanowich remains held without bail.
His next pre-trial is scheduled for July 11.
