Air Station Cape Cod Coast Guard Crews Assisting in Search off Maine

BOURNE – Coast Guard crews from Air Station Cape Cod are helping to search for possible missing mariners off the Coast of Maine.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and an HC-144 Ocean Sentry crew were deployed to help search for the vessel Whiskey Rose which reported taking on water around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

The distress call was lost prior to the crew giving a present geographical location.

A line of bearing was received when the transmission was first received placing the line across the Isle of Shoals.

The Air Station Cape Cod crews joined the Coast Guard Cutter Tampa from Coast Guard Station Portsmouth in the search.
