DENNIS – A Dennis Port man is facing charges after two Cape convenience stores were held up last night.

Christopher Gaspar, 30, is accused of attempting to rob the 7-11 in West Harwich and then robbing the Speedway Gas Station in Dennis Port a short time later. Gaspar was arrested in the area of the Speedway station after a Dennis police officer noticed him and believed he matched the description of the man wanted for both incidents.

The robberies happened around 11:30 Sunday night.

A K9 unit found a weapon nearby that officers believe was used in the robberies.

Gaspar was held on bail and will be arraigned today.

The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted Dennis and Harwich police with the investigation.
