WASHINGTON – Congressman Bill Keating has introduced a resolution expressing the House of Representatives support for the Good Friday Agreement.
The resolution affirms the importance of the pact, also known as the Belfast Agreement, along with the United States’ continued support for peace in Northern Ireland as tensions continue to grow as Britain negotiates its exit from the European Union.
On St. Patrick’s Day, Keating and members of the Congressional Friends of Ireland Caucus recognized the role the agreement has played in promoting peace.
