HARWICH – At approximately 10:45 AM Saturday, Harwich Police and Fire-Rescue were dispatched to a 2 car crash on Harwich-Orleans Rd (Route 39) at the entrance/exit to the Stop and Shop complex. Upon arrival it was reported that a Jeep Grand Cherokee had exited the Stop and Shop driveway and collided with a Toyota Highlander traveling east on Route 39. Both vehicles suffered significant front end and side damage and had to be towed from the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the Jeep was evaluated by the Harwich Ambulance crew and refused further treatment or transport as did the driver of the Toyota. Harwich Fire mitigated a small fluid spill and traffic was slowed for a time while the scene was cleared. Harwich Police are in charge of the investigation.
