BARNSTABLE – About 700 Eversource customers lost power around 5:30 PM Friday. Eversource is indicating the outage is due to “equipment damage”, likely due to the strong winds across the Cape. Fire officials reported a transformer explosion on Hyannis Road. The utility is working to restore service.
As of 8 PM, the outage had been reduced to 350 Customers. Eversource hoped to have all customers restored by 9:30 PM.
