Outer Cape Health renames center to avoid billing confusion

PROVINCETOWN – Outer Cape Health Services is renaming their Provincetown location after community billing confusion.

Their walk -in care center will now be called the “Primary Care Walk-in Clinic” to better reflect its regulatory designation and billing practice.

It was formerly referred to as Urgent Care.

Officials said the renaming does not reflect any change in service, including continuing of same-day non-emergency medical attention.

Representatives said the primary care model better supports insurance coverage for patients, adding that urgent-care designation would increase out-of-pocket costs.

“We want to maintain affordable access to care for our community, especially those who consider OCHS their primary care home,” said Dr. Damian Archer, CEO of OCHS, in a statement.
