Rabies Vaccine Distribution Starts April 13

BARNSTABLE – Oral rabies vaccine baiting will resume across the Cape this spring.

The rabies baits will be distributed in the towns of Sandwich, Mashpee, Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis, Brewster and Harwich beginning April 13.

Residents who find baits are asked to dispose of them in the woods or trash and to pick them up with a glove or towel.

The baits attempt to reduce raccoon rabies on the Cape and is not harmful to pets.
