BOURNE – A crash involving a Mass State Police cruiser caused heavy traffic backups in Bourne Thursday morning. The crash happened about 8:45 PM on Sandwich Road by the Gallo Ice Arena. No serious injuries were reported. The crash backed up traffic almost to Sagamore and officials were advising motorists to avoid Sandwich Road and use the Scenic Highway instead to get between the Canal bridges. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
