WELLFLEET – Wellfleet Police report that on Friday at approximately 12:01 p.m., they received a report of an operations complaint regarding a Chevrolet Impala on Rte 6 in the vicinity of the Wellfleet/Truro Town Line. Responding units observed a black Chevrolet Impala matching the description operating completely in the breakdown lane as it crossed the intersection of Route 6 and School Street in Wellfleet. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle which continued driving at approximately 35 miles an hour and travelling across all lanes into Eastham. The Eastham Police Department assisted and deployed stop sticks, bringing the vehicle to a halt on Route 6 at Old Orchard Road. Crayne Hurst, 57, of Truro was placed under arrest for OUI/Drugs, Negligent Operation, Failure to Stop for Police, Marked Lanes, Failure to Stop/Yield, Failure to Signal. Hurst was brought into custody without incident, evaluated by the Wellfleet Rescue Squad and booked at the Wellfleet Police Department prior to being arraigned at Orleans District Court.
