TRURO – A vacationing couple contacted the capecod.com newscenter to thank the Truro Police and Fire for going out of their way to help them recently: “My husband and I were on our way to a North Truro Campground Thursday afternoon when our RV broke down right on Route 6. It was not only the hottest day of the year, but our dog Hogan was with us as well. We called AAA, and they did not arrive for 3 1/2 hours. Luckily for us both the Truro Police Officers as well as the Truro Fire Chief checked up on us. Fire Chief Tim Collins brought the 3 of us to the air conditioned station, and then brought my husband to a car rental agency so we could rent a car. In this day and age of police bashing, I would like to thank both the Truro Police Officers, and Chief Collins for going above and beyond the call of duty. You’re a credit to your professions. Sincerely, Laurie and Tom Chriniak.”
