The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is pleased to announce that radio personality, Tom Doyle will be appearing with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra at the 30th Annual Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert on Sunday, August 9, 2015. He will perform his trademark satire of the Bourne Bridge during the 30th Anniversary concert’s ‘Tribute to Cape Cod’ portion of the program.
Tom is often referred to as “Boston radio’s legendary funnyman” and is known for his quick wit and comical character voices. A radio personality for 40 years on several Boston stations and longtime featured cast member of the Loren and Wally Show, Tom is best known for his Men from Maine and Townie Tunes CDs.
Today, Tom is the voice of the Cape’s favorite classical station: Cape Classical 107.5 where he’s featured in the station’s “Something Finer” campaign. Tom’s powerful narration of the new documentary film Golf Links, about legendary golf champion Francis Ouimet, presents still another facet of this versatile and talented performer.
The Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015, on the Hyannis Village Green. The annual concert features the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and this year will feature celebrity guest conductors Charlie Gibson, Connie Chung and Maury Povich.
