Ice Cream Festival to Benefit Sail Cape Cod

HYANNIS – A local non-profit is putting one of the tastiest fundraisers of the summer.

Sail Cape Cod will host “Scoops for Sloops,” an all-you-can-eat ice cream festival planned for Saturday June 17 from 12 to 5 p.m. at Aselton Park in Hyannis.

Seven of the Cape’s ice cream shops will be providing 28 flavors for attendees to try out and eat until they can’t eat any more.

The participating shops are Ben & Jerry’s, Jimmie’s, Kandy Korner, Polar Cave, Shipwreck, Sundae School, and Twin Acres.

Festival-goers will then vote on their favorite ice cream flavor. There will also be music, games and other activities, including the chance to go sailing on Hyannis Harbor.

Tent admission is $10 and $5 for children 12 and under.

Proceeds support Sail Cape Cod’s adaptive sailing and community outreach programs, which support individuals with disabilities, military families, and disadvantaged youth by getting them out on the water to enjoy the recreational and therapeutic benefits of sailing.
