HYANNIS – The MassHire Cape and Islands Workforce Board, Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, and other local establishments will honor employers who have engaged older workers over the years at the Age Forward Awards on September 24.
Senior Community Service Employment Program Director for Elder Services Laura Roskos said that more experienced workers are vital for employers, especially locally.
“Some of the people who are maybe prematurely retired thinking about coming back into the work force, those are the real available workers for employers to hire,” Roskos said.
Hy-Line Cruises, The Cape Cod Chronicle, and the Town of Barnstable’s Recreational Division will be honored at the Holiday Inn in Hyannis.
“We’re going to celebrate three Cape Cod businesses who are really outstanding in their treatment of their older workers and in their ability to retain those older workers,” Roskos said.
