YARMOUTH – It is not often that Cape police department make announcements of real estate transactions. But Yarmouth Police issued a statement about the sale of what they called a “troubled” property.
The home on Jerusha Lane in West Yarmouth has been the scours of over 100 police incidents, according to Yarmouth Police Deputy Chief Steven G. Xiarhos.
Xiarhos said, 38 Jerusha Lane has been the scene of involving fights, drugs, overdoses, animal abuse, and other violent crimes over the past few years.
“Solid teamwork and community policing by town of Yarmouth Police, Fire, Natural Resources, Building, Health, Finance, Administration, and the Board of Selectmen led to the reduction of the repeated calls, strict enforcement of all laws and building, health, and safety codes, and the subsequent sale of the home,” according to Xiarhos.
He continued, “This nice neighborhood will now have a vastly improved quality of life and peace restored.”
