YARMOUTH – Rush hour traffic leaving Hyannis for the Outer Cape was slowed because of two crashes. The first happened about 4:15 p.m. on Willow Street by the Eversource plant when an old military style Jeep rolled over. The driver was not injured but firefighters had to mitigate a fuel spill from the vehicle.
Just after 5 p.m. two vehicles collided on Willow Street by Higgins Crowell Road. A Lexus sedan appeared to have rear-ended a Subaru Forester. The driver of the Subaru was taken to Cape Cod Hospital. Firefighters had to deal with a fluid spill had to be cleaned up. As a result of the crash, the Lexus driver, Edward S. McFadden Jr., 42, of Dennis (right) was charged with Operating under the influence of liquor (3rd offense), and operating negligently to endanger. Yarmouth Police sat this is the 5th time McFadden has been arrested. He has two prior convictions. Both crashes remain under investigation by Yarmouth Police Top photo by CWN associate John P.
