BARNSTABLE – The Tour De Barnstable on Sunday, May 7th will cycle through each of the town’s seven villages to raise money for the Barnstable Land Trust and Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce.
While not a race, the event is a draw-in for fast and low-key bicyclists alike, according to Land Trust executive director Janet Milkman.
“We’re looking to really engage people,” she said. “Helping people learn about all the great natural resources of the town.
The 38-mile route begins at 8:30 a.m. at Aselton Park in Hyannis. There’s also a 10-mile option, which will begin at 9 a.m.
Shorter routes for children are also available.
Milkman said it’s one of 15 upcoming events designed to get people outdoors and around the Trust’s properties.
Registration is $65 for the long tour, $50 for the shorter, with discounts for those who register before May 5th.
Participants are encouraged to help fundraise by creating or joining a team.
