NANTUCKET – A New York Times best-selling author is coming to Nantucket next week to participate in two community programs.
The Nantucket Historical Association will host Roger Rosenblatt, an award winning writer and essayist for Time magazine and PBS NewsHour, for a special lecture and a creative writing workshop.
Rosenblatt is the author of nineteen books, five of which were New York Times Notable Books, and six off-Broadway plays.
He has won two George Polk Awards, a Peabody Award and an Emmy, along with receiving the Kenyon Review Award for lifetime literary achievement.
Rosenblatt will presents a lecture Friday, May 12 at the Whaling Museum at 6 p.m. He will discuss his life as a writer over the past four decades and the themes of originality, inspiration and imagination.
Tickets for the lecture are $10 per person.
The next morning Rosenblatt leads a creative writing workshop for writers of all abilities at the NHA’s Greater Light historic property from 9 a.m. to noon.
Tickets for the workshop are $25.
