COTUIT – Grab your paddle board or kayak and join the Barnstable Clean Water Coalition for their 7th annual Paddle for the Bays Race on Saturday, September 16 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ropes Beach in Cotuit.
All ages, individual racers and relay teams are welcome.
All money raised at the event goes to the Coalition’s mission to spread awareness about clean water issues in the Town of Barnstable.
Registration is open and tickets are available for the pre-race Cocktail Party, featuring local food, live music and a silent auction at the Wianno Yacht Club on Friday, September 15 at 6 p.m.
The Coalition deploys science as its foundation to monitor, educate, advocate and mitigate for clean water throughout Barnstable.
Since 1996, the Coalition’s work has taken members beneath the water, above it, and on land, allowing for a thorough, year-round study of the watershed that encompasses West, North and Cotuit Bays and related ecosystems throughout its more than 12,000 acres.
Beginning in June, the Coalition went town-wide, with a target mission area of 75 plus square miles.

Last year’s event was held by Three Bays Preservation, Inc.
