FALMOUTH – Firefighters were called to a reported structure fire at Falmouth Lumber on Teaticket Highway (Route 28) shortly before 8 PM Tuesday evening. According to initial reports the fire was in a building in the rear of the complex. It appeared a pile of debris had caught fire but fortunately the sprinkler system activated and held the fire in check. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Update: Falmouth Fire-Rescue reports that just before 8 PM Tuesday evening E25, E21, E24,L26 & C28 were dispatched to a reported structure fire at Falmouth Lumber. First arriving fire personnel located a fire in a warehouse shed at 760 Teaticket Hwy behind the East End Tap. The fire appears to have been extinguished by the buildings sprinkler system. Initial investigation revels the fire may have started in machinery used to move building material inside the building. The fire is not considered suspicious but it remains under investigation by the Falmouth Fire-Rescue Department, Fire Investigation Unit.
